The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System named Dirk Camilletti as its chief benefits officer. He succeeds Mary Beth Green who was promoted to KPERS’ deputy executive director for modernization in July 2024. Camilletti has more than 20 years of experience in benefits administration. Before joining KPERS, he served as a senior relationship manager for ADP, specializing in working with defined contribution plans (401(k), 403(b), and 457 (b and f). Camilletti previously worked at Security Benefit in Topeka and TIAA-CREF (TIAA) in Denver. While at TIAA, Camilletti worked as director of institutional 401(k) relationships and phone center management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in consumer studies and family economics from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, and completed graduate coursework toward a master of business administration at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Camilletti is licensed in FINRA Series 6 and 63. Camilletti also served in the U.S. Air Force.

The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System named Kris Holm as its chief fiscal officer. He succeeds Judy McNeal who retired in March. Holm has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance and administration. He served previously as chief financial officer and director of audit services for the Kansas Department of Revenue. Before that, Holm worked as director of finance and administration for the Office of the State Bank Commissioner. He also worked as an accounting manager for the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services and as a Medicaid reporting analyst for the Kansas Health Policy Authority. Holm earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and a master of business administration, both from Washburn University. He is also a certified public accountant.

Michael E. Rinehart was named the Kansas Department of Transportation’s new District One Engineer in Topeka. He succeeds Leroy Koehn, who retired from the agency in February. Rinehart has a liberal arts degree from Wheaton College and a civil engineering degree from the University of North Dakota. After 27 years with the Missouri Department of Transportation, Rinehart joined KDOT in 2020 as the Area Two Metro Engineer in Olathe, the position he held until his recent promotion. He will now oversee KDOT’s District One, which is responsible for construction and maintenance of more than 5,700 miles of state highways across 17 counties in northeast Kansas. “It’s a team effort to find success, and there’s pleasure in providing the public with good transportation every day,” said Rinehart. “District One has a great service-minded team that will continue to achieve great things.” Rinehart and his wife, Brook, live in Olathe. They have four grown children: Matthew (Grace), Abby, Silas and Caleb, as well as three grandsons: Judah, Ezra and Shiloh.

Longtime State of Kansas employee and KPERS chief fiscal officer Judy McNeal , retired on March 13. McNeal has more than 37 years of public service for the state of Kansas but has spent most of her career, 32 years, at KPERS. She began her career with the state at the Adjutant General’s office as an accountant II in 1988. She joined KPERS as an accountant V and was later promoted to assistant chief fiscal officer. McNeal became chief fiscal officer in March 2015. McNeal is a certified public accountant. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business, with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Kansas. She later earned her master of business administration from Regis College. She has a strong knowledge and understanding of Governmental Accounting Standards Board regulations and state budgeting requirements. Thanks to her contributions, KPERS has passed its financial audits with high marks and no findings, and KPERS has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellent in Financial Reporting for the past 30 years. She has provided exceptional service to KPERS. Her integrity and conscientiousness are top notch.

KPERS ’ chief information officer John Cahill was named a finalist for the Kansas CityCIO 2025 ORBIE Awards. The ORBIE Awards recognize and honor C-Suite leaders who demonstrate excellence in in leadership, innovation and business impact. Cahill was nominated and selected as a finalist in the Large Corporate category. He is a seasoned leader with 20 years of experience driving technological transformation and growth. Cahill has served as CIO for KPERS since 2020. Before that, he was CIO for the Kansas Department of Labor. He has been instrumental in shaping KPERS’ IT vision ad strategy, implementing a hybrid cloud framework and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Cahill was nominated for his team’s success story of implementing a data warehouse that combined three disparate databases into one area and applied business intelligence and predictive analytics against the data. The result was a robust reporting platform for the business users that greatly enhanced their insights into activities and potential fraud prevention.
