JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) - The Jacksonville boys and girls soccer teams are known for their success on the pitch.

Boys Head Coach Rudy Jamarillo says the kids knew the expectations coming into the season.

“The kids know the expectations and I feel like this year was a testament to them,” Jamarillo said. “At certain points in the season we’d have three or four kids out for injury of illness and we would have to move up JV kids to fill those spots and we continued to win.”

The bond that the team has is an integral part to the team’s success.

“I think it’s pretty strong,” said Edgar Moreyra. “We go back, a couple years now, and I feel like that’s a strong part of this team because we all just kind of understand each other pretty well.”

Carol Kardenas believes this year’s team is proving the doubters wrong.

“I think we’ve done a really good job this season,” Kardenas said. “I think a lot of people thought we weren’t going to do as good as last year but here we are proving them wrong.”

The Indian soccer team will host Greenville at the Tomato Bowl on Thursday, while the Maiden soccer team will host Anna on Thursday.
