In a sizable drug bust next to a place of worship and across from a local middle school, Jacksonville law enforcement apprehended two individuals with an array of narcotics. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office took to social media to detail the takedown, seizing nearly 7k potentially lethal doses of fentanyl, among other drugs. The bust took place at a business located on North Main Street, which according to the authorities, doubled as a front for the illegal drug trade. The Sheriff's Office post revealed an array of contraband that included "13.9 grams of Fentanyl, 16.1 grams of Powder Cocaine, 4.6 grams of Crack Cocaine, 1.9 grams of Oxycodone, 347.7 grams of Marijuana, two firearms (one had been reported lost) and $2,966 in cash." Investigated by the Narcotics detectives and aided by the District 6 Task Force and K9 Unit, a search warrant executed last month led to these findings. In a statement on Facebook the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office did not mince words: "If you’re peddling poison onto our streets, we will stop at nothing to shut your operation down." Eyob Woldetensay, 35, and Adriann Hendon, 51, are the accused behind the drug operations facing felony charges. Some charges the pair are behind bars include possessing illegal drugs with the intent to sell them within a thousand feet of a place of worship, said the officials. The Sheriff's Office emphasized that the closure of this drug operation represents a significant stride toward a safer Jacksonville. Community vigilance is encouraged by the law enforcement, placing a high value on tips from the public that lead to such successful drug busts. Concerned citizens are urged to report suspicious activities as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office assures that Jacksonville streets are under vigilant surveillance. "We’re always open to tips," the office declared, "Give us a call at 904.630.0500."
