The New York Jets drafted Missouri tackle Armand Membou with the No. 7 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft . By drafting Membou, the Jets were hoping he could become an immediate starter on the offensive line, completing a five-man unit that could immediately become one of the best in the NFL . The adjustment from college to the NFL is tough on any rookie. Offensive line is one of the toughest to do so. Having to not just learn a new playbook and system, but having to learn how to deal with a next level of physicality and everything that comes with the job off the field. Despite the tough road Membou has ahead, the Jets are high on him. Membou is showing early returns in camp. When the Jets drafted Membou, head coach Aaron Glenn made it clear that the organization was going to allow him to develop at his own pace; they weren't going to force him into the starting lineup if he wasn't ready for the task. Throughout the first month of offseason workouts and minicamp, Membou has looked great. His off-the-charts athleticism and skill has had Membou looking the part of a franchise tackle, and Glenn couldn't be happier. “Membou’s doing outstanding,” Glenn said on Tuesday at minicamp. “He’s working his butt off. He’s learning every day, too. “I think he’s doing really, really good there. I think it’s just adjusting from, I mean being in Missouri to being here in the NFL and playing against a top-notch rusher he’s been going against week-in and week-out.” Membou hasn't been impenetrable, though. He's had his fair share of trials against edge rushers such as Rashad Weaver and Will McDonald, two freaks of nature in their own rights. Earning experience against high-end speed rushers is important for Membou. The experience he's getting in camp against these top-tier rushers is going to prepare Membou for other edge rushers around the league once the reps turn from practice to game. Membou will be paired with a very young, but very effective offensive line. Young star Alijah Vera-Tucker will be right beside him, and Olu Fashanu will be flanking him as the other tackle.
