A second Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen community restaurant is opening in Toms River.

The new location, opening Tuesday, Feb. 11, will be a temporary pop-up site inside the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St.

“We are thrilled to expand our reach and serve even more members of the community. This pop-up allows us to connect with those who may not be able to visit our main location on Hooper Avenue,” said Rob Wood, assistant general manager of JBJ Soul Kitchen, in a statement. “Our goal is to provide a space where all are welcome to enjoy a nutritious meal and be part of a community where all are valued.”

The other JBJ Soul Kitchen in Toms River is located inside the B.E.A.T. Center, 1769 Hooper Ave. It also houses Fulfill (formerly the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties) and the Peoples Pantry.

The JBJ Soul Kitchen pop-up will offer meals for a suggested price of $12.

Diners can pay it forward for those who are unable to pay. If you don't have the funds to pay, you can ask about volunteering options.

Sandwiches, wraps, bowls, large salads and desserts will be on the menu of the Toms River pop-up. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. The pop-up will remain throughout the winter.

“We are here to create a positive impact on the Toms River community,” Wood said. “Whether you are here for a meal, to volunteer or to pay It forward, every small act helps make a big difference in someone’s life.”

The first JBJ Soul Kitchen opened in 2011 in Red Bank. There are also locations at Rutgers University-Newark, and New Jersey City University in Jersey City.

The Soul Kitchens have served nearly 200,000 meals, with more than half going to diners in need.
