A Kansas City man faces charges after his infant son died from fentanyl and methamphetamine poisoning.

Terry Canady faces charges of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, abuse or neglect of a child, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Court records state that on Jan. 28, Kansas City police responded to a call regarding the well-being of an infant.

A search of the home uncovered a torn plastic baggie containing methamphetamine, and surveillance footage showed Canady allegedly disposing of drug-related items that later tested positive for fentanyl.

Witnesses told police Canady used and sold methamphetamine and fentanyl.

No bond has been set in the case.
