KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A handful of the best Kansas City metro chefs, restaurants, and bars are being recognized as some of the best in the country.

The James Beard Foundation announced the 2025 restaurant and chef award semifinalists on Jan. 22, 2025.

Finalists will be announced on Wednesday, April 2, and winners will be announced at the James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on Monday, June 16.

The James Beard Awards® recognize exceptional talent in the culinary and food media industries.

The awards were established in 1990, with the first Awards given in 1991.
