KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department says nearly two dozen people accused of participating in sideshows and stunts were arrested Friday night into Saturday morning.

“We will not tolerate those who break the law, trying to hijack our streets,” KCPD began in a May 17 Facebook post.

Overnight, the department worked with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Jackson County and Clay County Sheriff’s Offices and the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department to make a major dent in what’s become a chronic problem for the City.

In total, 19 suspects were arrested and 36 vehicles were towed. Officers issued 76 citations related to alleged stunts, sideshows and other illegal activities. They also recovered five firearms.

“Kansas City’s streets belong to all of us, and we are doing the work to show you. Our enforcement of these illegal acts continues,” KCPD stated.

Editor’s note: No suspects have yet been identified, but more information will be provided as it becomes available.
