The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a Monday morning homicide. Police responded to the 3200 block of East 29th around 9:30 a.m. on reports of a disturbance with a weapon. Police received several calls about the same individual. By the time officers arrived, the man in question had fled. As they continued to investigate, around 10 a.m., they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound lying in the street at 27th Street and Askew Avenue. He was pronounced dead by EMS. Based on preliminary information, police said they believe the shooting victim was the same person involved in the reported disturbance. Police said they think they have identified everyone involved and are not looking for any additional suspects at this time. The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
