KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new high-flying attraction is opening at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium this weekend. The “Flying Flamingo” zip-line attraction will accommodate four guests per ride and stretch from the Sobela Ocean Aquarium to the Elephant Expedition south. The zipline gives riders a bird’s-eye view of the flamingos as well as the elephants. It is also said to reach top speeds of 30 mph, providing guests with an “exhilarating” experience that lifts them 100 feet in the air. All flights will require a reservation, which you can make on the day of your visit at Guest Relations, Membership Services, World Gate, Africa Market, or the Flying Flamingo kiosk. Premier Friends of the Zoo members can enjoy the Flying Flamingo for free as part of their membership, but will still need to make a timed reservation. For other guests, a single flight is $8, or you can purchase two flights for $15.
