KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A recent report has ranked Kansas as one of the worst states for singles, however, eastward neighbor Missouri may be one of the best. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and inflation impacting date prices, personal finance website WalletHub.com announced on Wednesday, Feb. 12, that it has released its report on the Best & Worst States for Singles in 2025 - and Kansas is near the bottom while Missouri is closer to the top. WalletHub said its researchers compared all 50 states across nearly 30 metrics that indicated dating friendliness. Data sets ranged from the share of single adults to the unemployment rate for singles to the number of restaurants per capita. The report ranked Missouri as the 14th best state for singles with a total score of 56.29. The Show-Me State ranked 26th for dating opportunities, 7th for dating economics and 9th for romance and fun. According to the report, Kansas ranked as the 8th worst state for singles with a total score of 42.33. The Sunflower State ranked 45th for dating opportunities, 8th for dating economics and 42nd for romance and fun.
