On Saturday, Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats added a big piece through the transfer portal with an elite Big Ten transfer. JB Nelson , a 6-foot-5 senior from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, spent the past two seasons with the Nittany Lions, where he saw action in 27 games. Nelson appeared in all 16 games last season with Penn State, recording 228 snaps on offense. He mixed in reps at left guard, left tackle, and even right tackle as needed. His addition at Kansas State marks the second-straight year with a Penn State transfer heading to Kansas State, following wide receiver Donte Cephas , who made the same decision one year prior. Coming out of Lackawanna College in the Class of 2022, Nelson was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s second-ranked JUCO prospect. He also checked in as the top-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania. The addition goes a long way for Kansas State, which saw a key player depart in the spring transfer portal last week. Wagner transfer Brandon Sneh joined Kansas State and was expected to see a sizeable workload, but elected to return to the transfer portal after a few months with the ‘Cats.
