The Big 12 has returned to an 18-game conference schedule for the 2025-26 season, which for Kansas State basketball means a drop from five to three home-and-home league series. The conference announced its scheduling matrix for the upcoming season on Thursday, with dates and start times still to come, but K-State did learn that it will face traditional rival Kansas both home and away, along with TCU and West Virginia. The Wildcats will face the other 12 league members once, split evenly between six home games and six on the road. The Big 12 received pushback from coaches last year, the first with 16 members, when it scheduled 20 conference games, returning to 18 by eliminating two home-and-home matchups. The two Sunflower Showdown games with Kansas remain a permanent fixture, while the other double matchups will change from year to year. K-State last played TCU home-and-home in 2022-23, while the Wildcats and West Virginia last squared off twice during the 2023-24 season. The Wildcats' conference home opponents in 2025-26 will be Baylor , Brigham Young, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas, TCU and West Virginia. The road trips will take them to Arizona, Arizona State , Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia. Last season, 14 of the 16 conference teams won at least 16 games, including K-State with a 16-17 overall record. Eight teams won 20 or more games, led by league champion and national runner-up Houston with 35 victories. K-State tied for ninth in the league last year with a 9-11 record.
