The Kentucky women's basketball team have been bounced out of the NCAA tournament after an 80-79 overtime loss to the Kansas State Wildcats. The two Wildcats squads went against each other Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington. It was neck-and-neck throughout much of the game and certainly in the fourth quarter with each team exchanging blows. No. 4 seed Kentucky finally took a five-point lead over No. 5 seed Kansas State just before the two-minute mark in regulation. Then, Kansas State took a one-point lead before Georgia Amoore responded by pulling up for a deep three and burying it with 33 seconds on the clock, giving Kentucky a 69-67 lead. Kansas State tied it up again and sent it to overtime after Kentucky failed to get a good shot up with eight seconds left. In overtime, it was more of the same with each team trading shots until Kansas State made a three to go up one point. Kentucky had last possession, and Amoore was able to get two good three-point shot attempts off, but neither fell. Ultimately Kansas State walked off with the one-point margin of victory.
