KFC, in celebration of apparently their biggest sales day of the year, Mother's Day, the crispy chicken company has released a free 96-page novella on amazon titled "Tender Wings of Desire." The romance novel tells a fictional story of Harland Sanders' courtship of a young Victorian lady.
KFC revealed the e-book, written by Colonel Sanders, just in time for Mother's Day, because we all know what moms want most is an 11 herbs and spices style romance novel! It's sure to bring the heat. The novel focuses on Lady Madeline Parker, who "must choose between a life of order and a man of passion," the man in question being Harland, a "handsome sailor with a mysterious past." According to a statement by KFC, Mother's Day is one of the chicken-hocker's best-selling day of the year. The company said in the statement that there is a 40 percent jump in sales on the day. Approximately 380,000 families feast on KFC meals each year on Mother's Day. Their campaign for the day is to "Let mom take a break from making dinner." According to the same statement, that is the equivalent to about 6.5 million pieces of chicken, 900,000 servings of mashed potatoes and gravy, and 480,000 servings of coleslaw.
