Make fitness fun for the whole family with the Charm City Run Kids X-Country Series!

It's hard enough to force yourself to eat right and exercise, so how are you going to get your children to do the same? Fortunately, Charm City Run has partnered with the popular fitness brand, Saucony, to bring a fun running series to families with kids 12 and younger. Their X-Country Series consists of seven races all over Maryland. Whether your family resides in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, or Howard County, Charm City Run has you covered.

According to Charm City Run's website, "The series is intended to be a fun, non-competitive, family-friendly introduction to running, and all runners will 'win' ribbons."

The top three girls and three boys in each age group will receive medals, but since everyone will receive a ribbon, there shouldn't be any tears at the finish line.

If you want to get a little exercise as well, you're welcome to run alongside your child and cheer them on! I'd even recommend "training" with your little ones beforehand to get them excited and make fitness a part of your normal family life. Depending on your child's age, the race will be anywhere from a quarter-mile to one-mile in length.

If you've participated in one of Charm City Run's kids' events in the past, you'll be pleased to find out that for 2019, you can attend a Saturday packet pick-up prior to the race to receive your child's race bib, optional shirt, and Saucony tote bag. If you want to be sure to snag one of these awesome bags, make sure you go on Saturday since they won't be available on the race day.

Each race is held on a Sunday and runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The cost is $6 if you register ahead of time, and $10 on race day. If you want to register for all seven races, the cost is only $35. For an additional $10 you can purchase a Charm City Run XC t-shirt. To register, or for more information about the individual races and packet pick-up details, click on the links below:
