Kool & The Gang in AC



Jersey City R&B legends Kool & The Gang bring the heat with chart-topping singles that include "Celebration," "Get Down on It" and "Jungle Boogie."

Kool & The Gang have won numerous awards, including two Grammys, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.

The group will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday in Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort. Tickets are $39, $49, $59 and $89 and available at ticketmaster.com . Door time is 7 p.m.

Black Panther Party art at Rowan



"Carrying On: Black Panther Party Artists Continue the Legacy" will be on display through March 15 at the Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum, 301 W. High St., Glassboro.

The Black Panther Party and The Black Panther newspaper are the common denominators of the early artistic careers of the four artists in the exhibit — Gayle Asali Dickson, Emory Douglas, Malik Edwards and Akinsanya Kambon.

An artist reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Admission is free.

Mardi Gras on the Boardwalk



A free concert will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Anchor Rock Club, 247 S. New York Ave., Atlantic City.

Conservatory Cannabis Co. welcomes the New Jersey-meets-New Orleans brass band funk of the Ocean Avenue Stompers. There will be beads, wine and dancing to music from Fats Domino to the Neville Brothers.

Admission is free, and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

'Madama Butterfly' at Stockton



The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera will present "Madama Butterfly" at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Stockton University Performing Arts Center, 101 Vera King Farris Drive, Galloway Township.

The performance will consist of a full-scale traditional Italian-style production of Giacomo Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" with chorus, international soloists and orchestra.

Tickets are $12 for Stockton students, $18 for children 12 and younger, $30 for faculty and staff, $35 for alumni, $38 for military and seniors 65 and older, and $40 for the general public and are available at stockton.universitytickets.com .

Classical music in Cape May



Cape May County musicians will perform works written during the past century, featuring vocal performances and pieces on the organ and piano.

Brenda Leonard will play a new piece for unaccompanied cello by local composer Koren Cowgill.

The concert will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 612 Franklin St., Cape May. Admission is free. Attendees are invited to a reception after the program to meet the artists.
