Do strawberry and graham crackers sound like a good mix?
If yes, then you'll love the new limited-edition doughnut Krispy Kreme is debuting! The strawberry and graham cracker duo will pay homage to the Strawberry Supermoon on June 24.
The doughnut, designed to look like the Supermoon, will be pumped with Strawberry Kreme and then dunked in strawberries and Kreme icing before being topped with "moon dust" graham crackers. They will be available to purchase for ONE DAY ONLY! So be sure to grab them!
"What a better way to celebrate the Strawberry Supermoon than by enjoying it with a new Krispy Kreme doughnut that looks like, well, a Strawberry Supermoon?" said Dave Skene, who is Krispy Kreme's chief of marketing officer. He continued, saying, "But don't want to wait 'til the moon rises Thursday to get the doughnut; our Mars doughnuts went fast!"
Krispy Kreme previously used doughnuts as a way to honor NASA's Perseverance Rover with a Mars doughnut and the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 with a chocolate glazed doughnut.
The Supermoon is usually the summer season's first full moon; a supermoon occurs when the moon is extremely close to Earth during its orbit, making it appear bigger and brighter. Any supermoon in June is labeled as a Strawberry Supermoon, coined by Native Americans for their harvest of strawberries during the late spring and early summer months.
According to research, the June 24 Supermoon will be the final one of the year. So, Krispy Kreme's Strawberry Supermoon doughnut comes across as even more of a must-need!
