COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Kroger donated more than $5,000 in groceries to Benedict’s campus food pantry.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, nearly 1 in 4 undergraduate students face food insecurity.

And that number is even higher among HBCU’s.

Those who spoke with ABC Columbia say they are happy to help.

Kroger also took part in ‘Pack-the-Pantry’ events at three other HBCU’s across the Southeast.
