GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WVLT) - After trailing by nine points at halftime, Tennessee outscored Florida by 17 points in the second half, taking down the host Gators 86-78 on Sunday afternoon in Gainesville. The Lady Vols shot just 30 percent from the field in the first half before a 37-point third quarter gave them a lead they’d hold onto over the final quarter. Talaysia Cooper scored a game-high 18 points, while Samara Spencer pulled down a Tennessee career-high 11 rebounds in the win. The Lady Vols are now 58-5 all-time against Florida. Tennessee improves to 21-6 overall and 8-6 in the SEC. The Lady Vols wrap up the road portion of their regular season schedule on Thursday at Kentucky.
