WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Area lake levels have once again fallen according to the City of Wichita Falls. Although the weekend saw a handful of storms move through the area, the combined level of Lake Arrowhead and Lake Kickapoo fell by half a percent to 66.6%. Arrowhead now sits at 67% capacity, while Kickapoo is at 65.8%. The typical trigger to enter stage one drought restrictions in Wichita Falls is 65%, but the city has been under the restrictions for months. Only a city council resolution can lift the drought restriction measures. Warming temperatures and increasing temperatures could continue to deplete lake levels without additional rainfall.
