The Columbia Stormwater Utility will conduct road work next week to repair a portion of the intersection of Providence Road and East Broadway. The work is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Monday and is set to conclude the next day by 6:30 a.m. According to a news release from the city of Columbia, the Stormwater Utility, which is working with the Public Works Maintenance Division, is repairing a portion of pavement at the intersection that was damaged from a storm pipe. It had been temporarily patched with asphalt until a plan for a concrete section to be constructed was put into place. Access to the intersection will still remain in place, however, a southbound lane on Providence Road may be blocked. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to use caution around the work zone or to find alternate routes.
