On Labor Day weekend, benefit the disabled and celebrate the start of football season by running or walking in the Broncos 7K!
Picture this: it's a sunny, cool September morning, and you've already traveled to Sloan's Lake and back -- by foot. But as you approach Mile High and the finish line of the Broncos 7K, you can hear the din of distant cheers, and you trot into the stadium through the iconic inflatable horse head, feeling like a true Bronco -- the pride of your accomplishment giving you the extra boost you need to cross the 50-yard line finish. [gallery size="large" ids="21149,21151,21150"] Okay, so maybe that's a little melodramatic, but all the same, the Broncos 7K and Fit Expo on September 3 is a great way for Broncos fans to support their team, benefit the National Sports Center for the Disabled, and get in some healthy exercise at the same time. WHEN: Sunday, September 3, 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Labor Day weekend) WHERE: Sports Authority Field at Mile High Click here to register by Wed., Aug. 22! (Registration sold out in 2016, so don't delay!) The 7K course begins at Mile High, heads west to picturesque Sloan's Lake, then heads back to the stadium via 17th Avenue. The course is 100 percent wheelchair accessible, and strollers and service dogs are welcome.
Participants of the 5th annual Broncos 7K will receive a retro Broncos jersey t-shirt, as well as a giant finisher's medal. Then, everyone's encouraged to stick around for the Kids Fun Run at 11:30 a.m. and the 3rd annual Broncos Fit Expo on the football field, which will feature family-friendly activities, interactive games, opportunities to meet Broncos players and cheerleaders, possibilities of winning game tickets or Broncos merchandise, and the opportunity to hang with everyone's favorite bronco, Miles the Mascot.
