In this STEM event, they will learn the parts that make up a plane and how different wing shapes can influence how far a paper airplane flies, what route it takes and how long it stays in the air. Josh Halpern concert: 5 p.m. Thursday, Erie Community Center, 450 Powers St., Erie. Cellist Josh Halpern, the Cultural Caravan’s artistic director, is joined by long-time collaborator Yannick Rafaliamana for a special program highlighting under-appreciated works. This concert features works by three iconic women from music history: Nadia Boulanger, Rebecca Clarke and Clara Schumann. All three rose to positions of global distinction as performers, composers and teachers at a time when it was almost unheard of for women to participate in the music profession at all.
