Love Is Blind stars Devin Buckley and Virginia Miller might have had the least dramatic relationship ever to grace Netflix, so it was a shock to learn that the two didn’t get married during their wedding ceremony and instead split in the season 8 finale. Heading into her big day, Virginia, 34, seemed to be crying happy tears as she told the cameras that she felt “very fortunate to have the love of such a beautiful man.” Devin, 29, also gushed about Virginia before the ceremony. “I do think I hit the jackpot,” the high school basketball coach said during episode 13. “She’s, like, one in a million. Just a smart, loving, kind human being, but also, on the outside she is very beautiful. She has the most stunning smile and her little dimples, and she’s my queen. I’m ready to spend my life with her.” Devin’s mom, Becky, and sister Kayla came into Virginia’s dressing room while she was getting ready and they were excited to welcome her to the family. His mom even told Devin that the healthcare recruiter seemed “happy and confident.” A little while later, Virginia began tearing up but her family seemed to chalk it up to pre-wedding jitters. When the couple stood at the altar, Devin explained that he fell in love with Virginia “because of her heart” and when he was asked if he took her to be his wife, he said, “I do.” Unfortunately, Virginia wasn’t on the same page. “I love you so much,” Virginia said with tears streaming down her face. “But I’m just not ready. I’m just not ready.” As Devin began to cry, Virginia continued to apologize and then walked back down the aisle where she hugged her mom and cried. Devin’s sister Kayla could be heard saying that she “just didn’t understand these girls,” while another man said that Devin “didn’t deserve it.” “I didn’t see it coming,” Becky told Devin when they were in the privacy of their car. “I don’t even know what to say.” Later, Devin said, “The worst thing that could have happened happened, and I just feel kind of lost. I don’t understand why.” After leaving the ceremony, Virginia tried to explain the reasoning behind her decision. “I feel sad, I feel really bad that I hurt Devin and his family. I think in a lot of our relationship, I wanted to protect Devin,” Virginia shared with the Love Is Blind producers. “It was important for me to protect Devin, and I don’t know if that’s a cultural thing, but it’s always been important for me to protect him, so there were topics that even he didn’t want to talk about, like politics. You know what I mean? There were just certain things he just didn’t want me to push on. So, there were just depths of our relationship that we didn’t get to.” She added that “even with their sexual relationship,” it was an aspect she didn’t feel like they had fully gotten to explore when it came to their compatibility. “I just think we should be all the way there before we decide to spend the rest of our lives together,” Virginia concluded.
