Love Is Blind stars Virginia Miller and Devin Buckley seemingly had a love meant to last, but she shocked fans when she said no to Devin at the altar. However, Virginia gave more insight to her decision during the season 8 reunion. “I think there were just a lot of little signs leading up to the wedding that [showed] we just weren’t the perfect match,” Virginia, 34, said during the episode that premiered on Sunday, March 9. “The night before the wedding, I went to his hotel room and I saw a note from an ex-girlfriend on his nightstand. There was no mention of him seeing the girl, and we had spent the whole day together. So, it just kind of created a little distrust.” Devin, 29, cut in, and explained, “She’s not really … That’s not who I see her as, my ex. She’s one of my best friends. We went to high school together, and the person that she’s with now was a part of my wedding party in my wedding group. So, I don’t see her in those eyes as her being my ex. She’s one of my best friends and the letter she wrote me had nothing to do with my relationship with her in the past or anything like that.” He added that it had “everything to do with her” being “proud” and that the woman was “happy he had found Virginia.” However, Virginia confessed that while she had previously met the woman, she was unaware that she and Devon had dated in the past until Devon’s mom revealed the information. Devin also claimed that he had been interested in working things out with Virginia and potentially continuing their relationship, but she scoffed at his words. “‘I wanted to be with her afterwards, but I did not answer her phone calls,’” Virginia said sarcastically. “It’s laughable.” Devin connected with Virginia and Brittany Dodson while he was in the pods. After he and Brittany, 35, decided to end their relationship, Devin proposed to Virginia. She said yes, and the two seemed to have one of the least dramatic relationships in Love Is Blind history. The only moment things became slightly tense was when Virginia brought up her request of a prenuptial agreement. In episode 11, she gave Devin the document and asked him to go over it to see if he wanted anything changed. The high school basketball coach told her he would have an attorney look at it. “I don’t think I’m worried based off of what you’re saying, but I just want to make sure and look through it all before I make it official to sign,” Devin replied after Virginia asked if he was worried about anything in the legal paperwork. Later, when Devin returned the document, he admitted that it was fine and they both seemed like they were moving toward their happily ever after. “I do think I hit the jackpot,” Devin said during a confessional before their wedding. “She’s, like, one in a million. Just a smart, loving, kind human being, but also, on the outside she is very beautiful. She has the most stunning smile and her little dimples, and she’s my queen. I’m ready to spend my life with her.” During the ceremony, the officiant asked Devin for his vows first, and he said, “I do.” However, Virginia just couldn’t bring herself to take the leap into marriage. She told Devin she “just wasn’t ready,” which seemed to annoy his mom, Becky, and sister, Kayla. The women could be heard consoling Devin after Virginia left the altar and Kayla said she “just didn’t understand these girls.” “The worst thing that could have happened happened, and I just feel kind of lost. I don’t understand why,” Devin said as he left the venue. Virginia was also upset by her decision, even if she did feel like it was the right one. “I feel sad, I feel really bad that I hurt Devin and his family. I think in a lot of our relationship, I wanted to protect Devin,” the healthcare recruiter told Love Is Blind producers once she was back in her dressing room. “It was important for me to protect Devin, and I don’t know if that’s a cultural thing, but it’s always been important for me to protect him, so there were topics that even he didn’t want to talk about, like politics. You know what I mean? There were just certain things he just didn’t want me to push on. So, there were just depths of our relationship that we didn’t get to.”
