FLORISSANT — A man died in the Florissant jail Sunday morning.

He was found unresponsive in his jail cell Sunday.

Florissant police have asked St. Louis County detectives to investigate the death.

In a news release, Florissant police Chief Timothy Fagan said the department takes "any in-custody death seriously."

A Florissant police spokesman told a reporter that any information on the man, including why he was held at the jail, should come from St. Louis County police.

St. Louis consistently lands on lists of most dangerous cities, but readers need to carefully look at how such lists are prepared.
