Sky Sports F1 legend Martin Brundle is bracing himself for potential grid walk gaffes at the forthcoming Miami Grand Prix , after he repeated a past blunder last year. Known for his pre-race grid walks , replete with snubs and awkward moments, Brundle's prior Miami adventures have often ended in hilarity.

In last year's race at the Miami International Autodrome , Brundle's on-screen predictions went awry while committing a memorable faux-pas involving NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes . With anticipation sky-high among fans due to the razor-thin 12-point divide between the top three drivers in the 2025 standings, all eyes will be on the track - and on Brundle this time around.

Amidst the throng of celebrities, mechanics, and drivers, he mistakenly assumed fewer stars would attend the 2024 Miami GP due to the new Las Vegas Grand Prix luring glitterati to Nevada, only to realise, perhaps to his horror, that Tinseltown's turnout was as stellar as ever - before an incident of mistaken identity.

Reflecting on the overcrowded list he witnessed, Brundle told Sky Sports in 2024: "We've got 50-odd pages of celebrities. Some of them will actually turn up and go on the grid, I'm sure."

Sky Sports' F1 pundit Brundle found himself in a rather uncomfortable position 12 months ago, to boot, as he mistakenly identified someone as NFL celebrity Mahomes: "That's Patrick Mahomes, isn't it? There, in front of me," said Brundle live on air, hoping to confirm the identity of the individual with his team and viewers.

Alas, it wasn't the quarterback star. The error was identical to the one he made at 2022's Miami Grand Prix, when he approached Paolo Banchero, freshly drafted by the NBA's Orlando Magic, convinced he was talking to Mahomes.

An unfazed Brundle then carried on to chat with the likes of pop sensation Camila Cabello, racing icon Mario Andretti, and F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo , Oscar Piastri, and Charles Leclerc.
