A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Maryland was arrested Friday evening in Millsboro, Delaware , after a coordinated operation by Delaware State Police and the Millsboro Police Department. Fernando Medina-Moreta, 28, of Seaford, was apprehended without incident following a traffic stop on DuPont Boulevard near Avenue of Honor Road. Authorities had received a tip around 7:45 p.m. that the suspect was parked outside a business on Centerview Drive, operating a dark gray Honda Accord with Delaware plates. State troopers quickly located the vehicle and initiated the stop. During the arrest, Medina-Moreta’s identity was confirmed, and a search of the car uncovered a loaded 9mm Glock handgun hidden under the driver’s seat. A records check showed the firearm had been reported stolen from Pennsylvania . In addition to being a fugitive from Maryland, Medina-Moreta now faces multiple felony charges in Delaware, including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and receiving a stolen firearm.
