FREDERICK, Md. (7News) — A Maryland man was arrested for over 35 counts of possession of child pornography on Wednesday, according to police.

Nicholas Stouter, 45, of Thurmont, was arrested and charged with 37 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), commonly known as child pornography, police said.

The investigation began in April following a National Center for Missing & Exploited Children tip that an online account may have CSAM. Stouter was arrested at his home on the 200 block of Westview Drive, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO).

Multiple electronics were taken in for testing. Stouter is being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, said FCSO.
