Multiple Maryland men's basketball players received Big Ten postseason honors.

Freshman forward Derick Queen made the most of his first season as a Terp, becoming the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Queen was also named to the Big Ten First Team — the only freshman named to the conference's top team. The other four players on the first team are either juniors or seniors.

Queen's 15.7 points and one block per game lead the Terps so far, while his 9.2 rebounds per contest are second.

Junior guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie also earned a postseason honor. His 14.9 points, 4.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game earned him a spot on the Big Ten Third Team.

Senior forward Julian Reese was named an honorable mention.

While he doesn't play for Maryland, Baltimore native and St. Frances alumni Ace Baldwin Jr. was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. It marked the second year in a row that Baldwin, a graduate student guard, earned the honor.

The Terps enjoyed a late-season surge and finished 14-6 in Big Ten play. Maryland won seven of its last eight games, and found themselves ranked in the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since 2023.

Maryland is the No. 2 seed in the Big Ten tournament and will either play Iowa, Ohio State or Illinois on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
