Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), follows her conviction after a seven-day trial in March, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia .

Superior Court Judge Michael O’Keefe delivered the judgment, mandating 120 months of incarceration for each of the two counts, these to run consecutively, as per the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia . Post her prison term, Martinez-Moz will also be mandated to register as a sex offender for life. The sentence, recognized by both judicial and law enforcement officials, comes in response to crimes committed back in 2015 and 2016 against an eight-year-old child.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office , U.S. Attorney Graves and Chief Smith commended the work of the Metropolitan Police Department in their investigation of the case. They also acknowledged the efforts of Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kathleen Houck, Niki Holmes, and Dana Joseph, who played a critical role, in both investigative and prosecutorial capacities.
