Drones have been brought in to help firefighters working on a large factory fire in Richmond overnight.

The fire took hold of the 20-by-30 metre property on Doonside Street, off Burnley Street, at around 2am this morning, with up to 80 firefighters at the scene at the peak of the blaze.

The fire is now under control, and Burnley Street is now open following an earlier closure between Victoria and Highett streets.
