Future Broadway musical "Mean Girls" will hold its world-premiere in Washington, D.C., this fall, dazzling audiences with a fun five-week run before officially opening on Broadway in March. Just like the 2004 film, "Mean Girls" features the story of Cady Herron and her move to the United States from Africa. But this time, Cady's realizations about social hierarchies and her place in society will be made complete with song and dance! The play is “full of razor-sharp wit and remarkable insight, taking a look at friendships — and human nature — through a ferociously funny lens.”
The D.C. production of "Mean Girls" will really be your chance to see the musical before it gets big. It’s directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (who brought you beloved shows like "The Book of Mormon" and "Aladdin"), and produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, and Paramount Pictures.
The National Theater has been a long-standing and respected Washington, D.C., establishment, and is worth the visit regardless of the production you're seeing! Presidential inaugural balls and world premieres of numerous monumental shows have been held at the theater, and it’s been the home to many a star.
