The Metropolitan Police are seeking information after a fatal shooting rocked a Southeast neighborhood this past weekend. Officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to the 500 block of Newcomb Street in response to a reported shooting shortly after midnight last Saturday. The victim, found to be suffering from gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead at the scene by DC Fire and EMS, the department detailed in a release. Identified as a 31-year-old Gaithersburg resident, Alex Alexander, the shooting has left authorities piecing together the circumstances leading up to his untimely death.
