MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Miami-Dade Transit supervisor, his wife, and a contractor have all pleaded guilty to a bribery scheme involving nearly $76,000 intended to manipulate city contracts for the Metrorail system.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said that Dale Robinson, the Track and Guideway Supervisor for Miami-Dade Transit, his wife Marcia Robinson, and contractor Jessie Bledsoe have all pleaded guilty to federal charges related to bribery.

According to officials, the case unfolded after Bledsoe, co-owner of JB Railroad Contracting, sought contracts for welding work on Miami's Metrorail system.

The DOJ said that in January 2021, while JB Railroad was already working on another contract, Dale Robinson requested a substantial bribe to ensure Bledsoe's firm would be chosen for the welding project. Bledsoe allegedly agreed and coordinated with Marcia Robinson to disguise the payments as legitimate transactions to a newly created company called Tailored Railroads & Consulting LLC.

Marcia Robinson set up Tailored Railroads in Maryland, where she served as the sole signatory for a company bank account, per the report. Over the following year, officials said that she sent four invoices to JB Railroad for services that were never provided.

According to the DOJ, in total, JB Railroad issued checks totaling approximately $75,956 to Tailored Railroads, which were actually payments for the bribe.

Authorities said that while Marcia Robinson may not have known all the specifics of the deal, she was aware the money was intended for her husband's benefit and did not report the illicit activities to the authorities.

Dale Robinson was found guilty of soliciting bribes from Bledsoe while overseeing Metrorail repair and maintenance contracts. His wife, Marcia Robinson, admitted to hiding her husband's criminal activities, and Bledsoe confessed to paying Dale Robinson to influence contractor selection for upcoming projects.

Both Dale and Marcia Robinson are set to be sentenced on July 10, 2025, with Dale facing a maximum of 10 years in prison and Marcia a maximum of three years. Jessie Bledsoe's sentencing is scheduled for August 1, 2025, and he, too, could face up to 10 years behind bars.
