On a week that has seen the Michigan State coaching staff go on an absolute recruiting heater, the Spartans have just landed another priority recruit, going into Ohio and flipping a defensive back prospect from another power conference school.

Jordan Vann , a native of Middleton (OH), has backed off of his Virginia commitment to make his commitment to Michigan State. This comes on the heels of a secret official visit to East Lansing this past weekend, keeping his name out of the public sphere.

Vann is a 6-foot-1, 195 pound defensive back that ranks as a 3-star prospect. He has been committed to Virginia since February, but is now headed to become a Spartan.

As a defensive back, Vann translates to be more of a nickel back or a strong safety. He becomes the fifth defensive back that the Spartans have added to the 2026 recruiting class.

Vann is the 14th commit of the Spartans 2026 class, joining Kayd Coffman, Braylon Hodge, Cory House, Eddie Whiting, KJ Deriso, Brayden Thomas, Joey Caudill, Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, Christopher Knauls, Eli Bickel, Collin Campbell, Quinn Buckey and TJ Umenyiora who are all a part of the Spartans class.
