After falling in the national rankings each of the last three weeks, the Michigan State men’s basketball team is back in the top 10.

The Spartans shot up six spots to No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25, which was released on Monday. The climb comes after a pair of wins against ranked teams last week, at home against Purdue and at Michigan on Friday.

Michigan State (22-5, 13-3 Big Ten) has now won three straight and the 75-62 victory against Wolverines has them alone atop the conference standings with two weeks left in the regular season. The brutal stretch continues at No. 16 Maryland on Wednesday (6:30 p.m., BTN) before hosting No. 11 Wisconsin on Sunday.

Michigan State is the highest ranked among five Big Ten teams in the AP poll, followed by Wisconsin, No. 15 Michigan, Maryland and No. 20 Purdue.

The Michigan State women’s basketball team dropped a spot to No. 23 in the new AP Top 25. The Spartans (20-7, 10-6) rebounded from a pair of top-five losses at UCLA and USC with a 73-65 win at home against Indiana on Sunday.

Michigan State is in the final week of the regular season and plays at No. 12 Ohio State (23-4, 12-4) on Wednesday (7 p.m., BTN+) before hosting Minnesota on Saturday.

There are five Big Ten teams in the women’s top 25 in No. 2 UCLA, No. 4 USC, Ohio State, No. 19 Maryland and Michigan State.
