CLEVELAND, Ohio — Jeremy Fears Jr. and the Michigan State Spartans take on Richard Pitino’s New Mexico Lobos in an NCAA Men’s second round matchup at Rocket Arena. Tip is set for 8:40 p.m. with the winner advancing to the South Region semifinals in Atlanta. The game will air on TNT.

Donovan Dent scored 21 points and No. 10 seed New Mexico took control late in the second half to beat No. 7 Marquette on Friday. Michigan State had little trouble with No. 15 Bryant earlier in the day.

The Spartans are 10-2 in non-conference play and finished the regular season ranked No. 2 in the Big Ten and rebounding 37.1 boards per contest. Jaxon Kohler leads MSU on the glass with 7.7 per game.

Nelly Junior Joseph leads the Lobos with 7.8 boards, while the team led the Mountain West Conference in defensive rebounding at 25.4.

Dent, the Mountain West Player of the Year, shoots 49.4% from the floor and averages 20.6 points for the Lobos. Joseph is averaging 15.0 points over the last 10 games.

The Spartans are led by Jaden Akins in scoring at 12.6 points per game, while Jase Richardson is averaging 16.3 points and 4.5 rebounds over the last 10 games.
