HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. — With his wedding one week away, a Mississippi lineman is reporting for duty in Florida before walking to the altar. Instead of preparing for wedding bells, he's answering to the call of service by helping Wauchula repair its electrical grid, according to a release from the nonprofit National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. The 25-year-old volunteered for the mission. It's not clear how long the soon-to-be groom will be in Florida, just that his selfless act of service will likely help thousands of people who are now facing the aftermath of Milton.
