(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) The Missouri Department of Natural Resources announced funding is available for projects that will protect the state's waters from pollution caused by stormwater runoff.

An information session to learn more about the funding opportunity will be held on April 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, or virtually via Webex.

To be eligible for funding, projects must implement pollutant-reducing best management practices from the DNR's accepted watershed-based plan .

Watersheds where there is accepted plan include Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Taneycomo, Mozingo Lake, Spring River, James River, Greater Bonne Femme, Black Creek in Shelby County, Deer Creek in St. Louis County, Keifer Creek, Perry County, Town Branch and Piper Creek, Upper Little Sac River, and North and Middle Fabius Rivers.

Responses to a new Request for Proposals for the federal grant funding are due by May 1.

Grand awards can range from $50,000-$400,000 and projects can span up to three years.
