HARRISONVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri man who allegedly led law enforcement officials on a high-speed chase was found to have been wanted in two separate cases.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says that just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, law enforcement officials attempted to stop a speeding and careless driver along southbound I-49 near Highway 7 in Harrisonville.

Investigators noted that the driver, later identified as Jacob Madson, 34, of Lincoln, Missouri, failed to yield to deputies and spurred a pursuit. Ultimately, Madson crashed the vehicle in a ditch after he attempted to turn onto S. Dickey Rd. from State Route T in Austin.

During his arrest, law enforcement officials said it was found that Madson had an active warrant for failing to appear for resisting arrest. He also had a warrant for failure to appear in the Clinton Municipal Court for shoplifting.

Due to the crash, the Sheriff’s Office said EMS was called, but Madson refused medical treatment. He has since been charged with operating a vehicle in a careless or imprudent manner and aggravated fleeing. As of Thursday afternoon, he remains behind bars without bond.

A hearing has not yet been set in the case. No further information has been released.
