KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter nearly one week after a fatal shooting took the life of a man in Kansas.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Tuesday, April 29, indicate that Andrew D. Holmes, 21, of Kansas City, has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Kansas.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department said that on Thursday, April 24, law enforcement officials were called to the Terrace Pointe apartment complex, near S. 71st Ter. and S. 72nd St., with reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they said they found 21-year-old Erik Johnson-Linares outside the building suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced deceased.

A criminal complaint filed in Wyandotte County, Kansas, revealed that Holmes has been charged with voluntary manslaughter as a result. An order for his extradition was signed by Judge Abbie Rothermich in Missouri on Tuesday.

As of Thursday, May 1, Holmes remains behind bars in Jackson County with no bond listed. No further information has been released.
