At a ceremony at the Missouri State Capitol, Adjutant General Charles D. Hausman of the Missouri National Guard was promoted to the rank of Major General. The event marked a new stage in Hausman’s military career, which spans more than 30 years. Governor Kehoe said, “This promotion is a testament to Major General Hausman's remarkable leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our state and nation,” according to the Office of the Governor .

Since taking command in February, General Hausman has led the Missouri National Guard through winter storms and statewide flooding. The Governor appointed Hausman to the position in January. In an official statement, Governor Kehoe said, “On behalf of all Missourians, congratulations to General Hausman and the Hausman family on this well-deserved promotion,” as reported by the Office of the Governor .

Hausman, a native of Saint Joseph, has served in the Army Reserve and the Missouri National Guard, where he held leadership roles and completed staff assignments. He is a combat veteran with experience in aviation and has received military honors including the Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Service Medal. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology and a Master of Science in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri, as well as a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. He lives in Jefferson City with his wife, Julie, and their two adult children. On his promotion, he said, “It is an honor and privilege to be entrusted with this responsibility,” as stated by the Office of the Governor .
