Hollister locals and commuters should be aware that the Missouri Route 86 Long Creek Bridge will be briefly out of service tomorrow. The short-term closure near Hollister is scheduled to last 20 minutes between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. The reason behind this is to make way for contractor crews who are moving their heavy equipment across the bridge, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation .

Now, for those of you planning your morning commute tomorrow, this is gonna mean a roadblock. Motorists can expect the bridge to be entirely closed for up to 20 minutes within the one-hour window. And, be aware, there will be flaggers posted near the work zones, so slow-down and keep an eye out for traffic changes. A suggested detour would take you on a little scenic route involving U.S. Route 65, Missouri Route 265, and Missouri Route 13, so plan accordingly.

And don't worry about forgetting this traffic alert—the folks at MoDOT have thought about that, too. Travelers will be greeted by signs and message boards alerting them as they approach the area. But that's not all; there's also MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map, a handy tool for real-time road conditions and traffic impacts that's just a click away.
