Missouri State football added another tight end via the transfer portal. This one was previously ranked as one of the nation's top tight end prospects in the 2024 class.

Ole Miss transfer Dillon Hipp announced his transfer to Missouri State on Friday afternoon. He spent one season with Lane Kiffin's Rebels after being rated as a three-star prospect out of high school and as the No. 7 overall tight end in his class.

Hipp, at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, joins Arkansas State transfer and former Republic standout James Rexroat as tight ends to commit to the Bears this spring. Both will come to Springfield after the Bears lost standout tight end Lance Mason in the transfer portal to Wisconsin.

Hipp spent one season with Ole Miss, where he played in three games to maintain his redshirt. He played 12 total snaps, including 10 offensive, during a game against Georgia Southern. He has four remaining years of eligibility.

He played his high school ball at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona. Hipp was named the state's Tight End of the Year as a senior. He caught 61 passes for 707 yards and six touchdowns throughout his career.

Hipp was pursued by Baylor, Arizona State, TCU and others out of high school.

Hipp figures to immediately battle for a role with the Bears this upcoming season. The tight end position is arguably the deepest and best group on the Bears, with Gary Clinton and Jeron Askren also set to return.
