Travelers in Missouri can now breathe a sigh of relief as critical roadways have reopened following hasty repairs due to recent flood damage. According to Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) , the once-closed Sullivan County Route DD, Linn County Missouri Route 139, and Gentry County Route O are now accessible to the public. The department had promptly shut down these roads on May 19 to conduct urgent fixes on the culvert pipes that were impaired by the floods. With waters having receded, the necessary work has been completed, and the thoroughfares were made passable once again. For those concerned about the status of other routes or seeking real-time updates, MoDOT provides an online Traveler Information Map on their website. While the reopening may spell the end of an immediate inconvenience for local drivers, MoDOT continues to underscore the importance of roadway safety especially in areas recently afflicted by severe weather. They have urged drivers to remain vigilant by "always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down, and moving over in work zones," ensuring that the aftermath of the repairs does not result in preventable incidents.
