NORTH PORT, Fla. (WWSB) - The Atlanta Braves last spring training game versus the Baltimore Orioles brought out fans from near and far away. Zach Maddox says he has been an Atlanta Braves fan since his childhood. “When I grew up it was always over in Orlando, and to see what they have done here and kind of build up around it is really cool. It’s a great, great ballpark, great venue,” said Zach Maddox. The Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles game ends in a 5 to 5 tie contest. The Atlanta Braves (12-12) are heading to Arizona to face the Chicago Cubs for two games. Meanwhile the Baltimore Orioles (13-14) have a young star on their team in shortstop Jackson Holliday. “If I can carry what I’ve done in spring I would be very happy. Happy with the low line drives, hard ground balls, and double, triple, homer here and there. I’m very happy with the at bats, that today was good,” said Jackson Holliday. The Atlanta Braves have a great spring training home in North Port to help them get ready for the season. “Let’s go Braves, Let’s go Braves... That’s all I got,” said Zach Maddox. The Atlanta Braves will play the San Diego Padres March 27, on opening day of the 2025 MLB season.
