After 20 years of delighting patrons with their baked goods, the Occoquan location of Mom's Apple Pie Compay has closed their doors.

Anyone who has driven through Occoquan knows the cozy bakery that sits on the corner just before VA State Route 123. Whether it's decked out for the holidays or bustling with summer tourists, Mom's was like a beacon for anyone who loves a good made-from-scratch dessert.

The creaky porch and decadent pies are just a couple of things that made this local bakery great. Locals and tourists alike flock to the charming riverfront town of Occoquan and most inevitably stopped by Mom's for a sweet treat. The good news is that this is just a temporary closure as one of the founding family's daughters works out the rebranding of this famous landmark.

Until it closes down for good, the beer and wine shop connected to the bakery will sell out its inventory at reduced prices. Right now, the beer is on sale for 20% off, so get some while you still can. Any remaining inventory will be transferred to the Round Hill location of Mom's Apple Pie Company at the end of the month.

March 2023 is the slated target date for the reopening of the bakery under its new ownership. Fans of the shop's cookies, lemon squares, and trademark pastries can rest easy knowing that many of Mom's best-selling pies and sweets will still be on the menu. Stay tuned for a review of the revamped shop in the spring!

If you need a pie from Mom's in the meantime, just visit their remaining locations in Leesburg (220 Loudoun Street SE in Leesburg) or Round Hill (35246 Harry Byrd Highway in Round Hill).
