On Sunday, December 10, 2017, Montgomery County Police detectives discovered the body of a deceased local 17-year-old boy.
They have identified the young man as Navid Nicholas Sepehri, from Bethesda. Police had been searching for Sepehri after a missing persons report was filed over the weekend when he did not return home. His body was discovered in a wooded area near the 6500 block of Laverock Lane in Bethesda, just two miles away from his home on Radnor Road.
The Montgomery County Police Department first announced the investigation over social media late Sunday night.
"MCP conducting death investigation - deceased male located in woods near area of Braeburn Court in Bethesda. Will provide updates when additional information is confirmed," the tweet read.
One day after the discovery, Police were only been able to reveal the young man's name. They have not revealed a cause of death because an autopsy still has not been performed. The body was transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner so that a cause of death could be determined.
Montgomery County Police are investigating the death as unnatural. At this point, it is too early to know whether foul play was involved, but anytime a teenager is found dead in the woods, it is presumed that he or she did not pass away from natural causes.
